I watched the entirety of it yesterday, after having put off watching the rest of the week. I wasn't sure I was going to watch it at all, due to what happened and all. But you know what? I really liked it. I even liked Gwen in it. I think RTD is a dumbfuck if he's going to try and continue the series from here, which he says he's going to, but the miniseries itself I liked very much. I thought it was the...maybe not perfect...but a decent ending for the series that I could stand behind.
I wasn't necessarily happy with all the events, of course, but it was a plot device, not just for the meat of the show but for the ending to really work as well, and it's complete bull, but I really like what it brought out in Jack and how much it said about him and about that relationship—things that he'd never be able to say himself. So it was a wonderful in that aspect. And Gwen I just love it when she gets all into Rhys, with the "my gorgeous husband" stuff. Those are the times I really like her, though her patience with Clement had a lot of merit, too.
Of course I still want fix-it fic. ^_^ But as far as the miniseries went, it was a damn good story.
