I'm looking for dates, so I'm scouting around Colin interviews and I thought I'd share some of the more interesting things I'm finding.

I need to do some math. Ryan said he'd been working with Colin since he was 19, but I don't think that's right. Ryan was born in 1959, so that would be... 1978. But he said that he didn't start doing improv until he was 20 or 21, so it seems more likely that he would have met Colin around 1980. Which would mean that RCG would be taking place right now. Or a few months back, rather. Hm. I honestly don't trust Ryan's memory, especially since he can never keep straight how old Colin is. I should try and find an interview with Colin to get the facts straight.

--Do you have any control over what games you play?
Colin: We have no control over the games we play. We have input into games that haven't worked and we can bring new games to Dan's attention. Ryan and I brought Sit, Stand, Bend and I brought Dead Bodies. Brad brought New Choice.

--What is/are the easiest game/s for you?
Colin: The easiest game for me is Helping Hands. Nothing to do except humiliate Ryan. It breaks me up when Ryan is complimented for his arm work in that game. Out of sight, out of mind.

In an interview from March of this year, Colin said he'd known Ryan for 26 years. I'm far more inclined to believe Colin. He's got a fantastic memory from what I've seen, and plus 26 is a pretty arbitrary number, so that would make their meeting back in 1979 which almost corresponds with Ryan's story. Hm....

In an interview from 2000 he said he'd known Ryan for 20 years, which also corresponds, but 20 is one of those numbers when you mean "around 20." Interestingly enough, though he and Ryan were always pushing to get paired with other people, Colin says immediately after that in this particular interview that he and Ryan always tried to use each other in scenes.

Colin: Knowing Ryan has really helped my career. In fact, he's basically set up my entire life. I met my wife through him; I got Whose Line through him; I got the American Whose Line through him. He's done everything but sire my child.
-- I know we all know this, but I was reading it and the first thing that came to mind was "Ah, Mpreg..." ^_^

"Colin is a very sexy man. That's my whole answer."-Greg Proops
-- WHAT is this from??

"The last time I said what I 'really' thought of Colin, his wife issued a restraining order on me. And, he's not allowed to call me when he's drunk." - Brad
-- Now I'm just getting distracted. ^_^ I'm supposed to be typing the end of RCG right now. But wouldn't that make a fun fic?

Ryan met Pat when he was 19. He met Colin when he was working at Punchlines. Did he meet Pat at Punchlines?

And there's this, too: "Back in 1969, when the Stiles family moved to Canada, a Scottish family by the name of Mochrie also made Vancouver its home. Nearly ten years later, Colin Mochrie was introduced to Ryan Stiles through a mutual friend." But I don't know where that's coming from if it's not coming straight from one of their mouths. I don't know. I think it's time to give up and go back to typing.
