I will TRY to type up a report for this show (as well as the past three) but I'm really lazy, so we'll see. But I WILL post my favorite part of tonight's escapades.
Okay, so you have to understand that Jeff and Chip have been all over each other the entire night, so this was just the icing on the cake.
It's the second song of Greatest Hits -- songs of the Engineer. Greg "calls in" to ask if there's any children's songs. Right away Chip is shaking his head, smiling and saying "No no no no..." So Drew and Sean (the sellers) try to say that there's no children's songs on the cd, but something?(not sure what, I was watching Jeff & Chip) is said and Sean is all "Oh, that's right! There ARE children's songs on this." They name the song "My cell phone doesn't work" or something along those lines. And Laura starts up this lulluby type melody. For some reason Drew could not stop laughing during the beginning of this song.
Jeff goes and gets one of the stools, intending to sit on it, but Chip decides that they're singing to a child sitting on the stool. Jeff goes to sit down and Chip admonishes him, telling him that he almost flatted the kid. He then turns to the "kid" and tells him that Jeff is a "bad assistant daddy." There's another allusion to them being a gay couple later on, but I don't remember it.
So Chip sings to the chair and Jeff watches. Eventually Chip looks to Jeff for help, but Jeff just shrugs and says "Go on." He then goes back to the stools and sits down and watches, totally abandoning Chip. ^_^ Chip goes on for a while and eventually Jeff comes up (tries to sit on the kid again), sings maybe three lines, is on his fourth, which ends with "...your whole family is dead," and Chip just grabs hims and stops him before he can finish. At this point EVERYONE on stage just cracks up. Both Jeff and Chip are doubled over in laughter and it takes them a good minute before they can collect themselves enough to start singing again. No one has kept a straight face throughout the song. It was fabulous.
Chip ended up singing 95% of the song, and he did great.
And Hell, while I'm typing I'll talk about the next song. It was... (I do have this written down in the other room, but if I leave I won't have the will to continue typing.) ... an 80's song which sounded kind of disco.... by the name of... oh, right.... something like "I Still Can't Get Laid." Referring to engineers even after they're rich or something. I LOVED this song and I really wish I had brough a recorder because Chip was amazing. His voice was just so good in this and the beat and everything, I was dancing in my seat. ^_^ I could listen to that song over and over.
So, yeah, I'll make a sad attempt to work on some of the four reports I still need to type tomorrow. Right now I need to write slash....
