First of all, I have to pimp Lyndsey's birthday present for me. ^_^ It's a mostly Drew centered piece, that has much more of a bite than her pieces usually carry. It's dark and yet fun and humorous, and she did a fabulous job on it. ^_^ I love it muchly. You can find it here: (I Can't Live) With or Without You. She explained Drew's character to me in a little more depth afterward, speculating that he's actually far darker than the writing shows. For instance ( bit of a spoiler here ) I think that adds a whole new layer to the story, and makes me want to reread it with that different mindset in mind. Leave her a nice review if you read!! :D
She also wrote me an original piece for our anniversary. That's a sweet, melancholy number about a teenage mother and her baby. It's a relationship we don't get to explore in the canon of our story (One Day) so it was great to see. That one you can find in her writing journal: Breathe Again.
Also, I got the new Dance Dance Revolution for my birthday, but I only just had the chance to start playing it today. God, I suck at that game. ^_^ But it's fun! I played for a half hour, and damn, did it have me sweating afterward. The only thing I don't like about this one is that, being that it's for the Wii, it makes use of your hands as well as your feet. I have a hard enough time playing DDR when it's normal, but that adds a whole new element. Which only makes me suck more. :P But I think it's to try to get you to keep time with your hands, but if your timing is off, it screws up everything else. I looked for a way to turn the hand option off, but I haven't found it yet. I guess I'll keep looking.
I feel a little bad for Matt Smith. Everyone is prejudging him. I mean, he's certainly not my idea pick, but then, neither was Tennant at the time. All I could think of when he was named was the creepy tongue thing from HP. ^_^ But he proved to be far more fabulous than anyone could have imagined. I've decided to put the same faith in Matt. I don't know anything about him as a person, but if he was chosen to play the Doctor, then there's got to be a good reason for it, right? Maybe he was chosen in part to play up to a younger audience, but I have to believe that there's a solid foundation behind that that affected the decision. Either way, I won't judge until I see him for myself. It took me until the were wolf episode to really get attached to Tennant, and I was going at that with a much less open mindset.
So, Chris Brown, huh? This is another one I'm not calling judgment on yet. I mean, every time I hear something else about the attack it seems to be getting worse and worse. From a beating to a concussion to her losing consciousness to him choking her and screaming death threats. It makes me wonder how much is true and how much is hearsay. I like his music, so part of me wants to believe this has been blown way out of proportion, but on the other hand, I'd be equally amused with a mighty fall that would force him back to Mechanicsville so he could start frequenting Lyndsey's PetSmart again. ^_^
Oh, and Lost! God, I love it when people come together. ^___^ ( spoiler filled rambling about last night's episode )
