I'm leaving for a funeral in a few minutes. I hadn't mentioned it before because I really didn't care to recieve condolences, but my grandmother died on Friday. I barely knew her, and I'm sad, yes, but I'm not devestated or even upset, really. I'm just not looking forward to having to deal with the rest of my extended family. Or a church. Or the fact that I can't smoke around those people. Or mention that I'm a lesbian. We have to travel to mid-state New York for the funeral, and I'm probably going to have to drive my siblings home tomorrow, so that kind of sucks, too. It's a long-ish drive. And Blue sounded like she's ready to die earlier today. I gave her a massive amount of antibiotics (massive for a mouse, that is), and she's sounding better now, but I don't have high hopes. I just hope she doesn't die while I'm gone. I'd really rather not come back to find that the other two have eaten her brain. Because mice do that. So, yeah.

I'm sorry - well, yeah, about your grandmother, firstly, even if you weren't that close. But probably moreso that you have to see the rest of your family. :\ Oh, and I really hope your mouse is OK. *bites lip* Um, yeah. This was pointless. *tries to non-awkwardly hug you* But still.

Well, I know you said you don't want condolences but I'm just polite like that, so sorry to hear about your grandmother, even if you didn't know her all that well. *huggles* :)

Also, sad about your mouse... I had mice when I was younger. They're cool little pets! I'd get more but I'm in a small apartment with three cats and yeah, not a good combination. Although one of my cats, Kermit, has occasionally caught wild mice in here... *sniffs*

I'd get more but I'm in a small apartment with three cats and yeah, not a good combination. -- I have cats, too, actually. ^_^ I originally got mice because I missed having pets while at college, and even if mice weren't allowed, they were a Hell of a lot easier to hide than a cat. Now I can't imagine not having them, but I'd need to have cats, too.

I know you said you don't want condolences...but i don't really know what else to say...I am very sorry to hear about your grandmother - I can relate, having recently lost a grandfather I'd only met in 2001 and he had severe parkinsons then which meant we hardly talked ever, so I know what you mean when you say you don't need condolences, but I also know theres not much else to offer but that...other than...good luck with the family...and I hope Blue doesn't die. :(

Well, she's not dead yet. ^_^ She's sounding much better, but she's had breathing problems for, like, 6 months now, so I know it's only a matter of time. She's just still so lively. It's hard to imagine that it's her time to go yet.

Oich jeeze. When you said she's not dead yet I totally thought you meant your grandmother...*sigh*

Anyway...that's good news about the mouse. I know what you mean though - my grandmother has two cats (both are 18) and one of them just died a few weeks ago and she was "the healthy one". Hopefully the same won't happen with Blue - 'cause as you said, shes sounding much better now. ^_^ Best wishes to her!

Blue seems okay... for now. She was coughing and wheezing yesterday in a way that I was surprised she was still alive. I think I'm going to try and get her more medicine and just see how long she holds on.
