Tripp did something like this, and it inspired me to do the same. I couldn't find two instances of this meme that were the same, so I just picked one and ran with it. :) I don't think I actually drew that much this year. Hrm. Have to change that in the future. Ah, and click on thumbnails for larger versions, of course. My Favourite:
It didn't do very well on my f-list due to differences in pairing preference, and even in the right circles, I got a lot of flack for the softness of the Doctor's face, but it gives me the warm and squishies when I look at it. ^_^( The Doctor and His Rose )My best:
A picture I did for metowardmyself
with Jon Stewart and her original character, Adam. I'd almost forgotten about these. I really like this one, though. And it was one of the few pictures I did with a background...and I just think I did a good job on it.( Adam and Jon )Art most underappreciated by the universe:
Oh, definitely this one. It makes sense because no one knows who the hell these people are, but I'm so proud of this one because I actually painted it. 99% of my art is done completely on the computer, but for this one, I took the time to actually do something by hand again, so I'm really pleased and proud of it.( Kay and Xion )Most Fun to Draw Art:
Just because the more fucked up something is, the more fun it is to do. ^_^ I mean, most of us don't write happy bunny sunshine fic, right? We like angst and stuff. Same with art. It's fun to push yourself and see just what you can do.( Chip Torture )Sexiest picture:
Uh...did I draw anything sexy this year at all? Oh! I did. ^_^ A couple things, but I think I'll pick this one. Do I need to explain it?( B-day present for Meow )'Holy crap, that's wrong even for you' Art:
Wrong? For me? I did a couple of iffy pictures this year, but I can't imagine that they'd be wrong for me
. I'll throw them up anyway, though.( True Love )( Alvin/Simon Luvin' )Drawing that shifted my perception of the character(s):
I'm going to go with him because I think this was the first time I started thinking of him as a "real" person. This character started out as a voice in another character's head, and he still was when I drew this, but I was drawing his perception of himself, and it just got me to realize that he had to be more.( Cody )Hardest Drawing to do:
Only because there's so many people in it. So much drawing and erasing and redrawing and then realizing that people are too short! :O Lots of hassel. :P( Original Characters )Biggest Disappointment:
Oh, God, THIS one. I can't stand to look at it even now, but I don't know why. I just feel like I fucked up on everything I was trying to do here. I'm sure I didn't—at least not as badly as I imagine, but it's still how I feel. One day I want to redo this one.( Gunning Down Romance )Biggest Surprise:
Totally the vagina monster. I think this just started out as me sketching colored lines just to keep my hands busy while talking on the phone, but it transformed into something I really, really like.( Vagina Monster! )Art I'm most proud of:
The Kay/Xion-watercolor one from earlier. Not going to repost. As I said, it was the first time I'd done something by hand in a long time, and I like the way it came out. There are a couple other pieces I could put in with this, like my keychains and the shadow box picture, but I don't have pictures of those online, nor have I ever mentioned them. ^_^ So I'm sticking with the watercolor.Goals for this year:
Not just draw more, but draw more porn. ^_^ And, as always, continue to get better. I know I'll never be satisfied with my own art, but I'm working toward that goal anyway in the hopes of being a better artist.
My specific goals for this year, I think, are to work on my color harmony and lighting effects. Oh, and totally work on my non-existent watercolor skillz. :P But that'll wait until the spring/summer when I want to spend time outside again.
